I am a music junkie I will admit!
I am good at finding new artists and predicting who will make it big and who will be a flash in the pan. I am currently looking to expand my playlists to include more artists like Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Dreamtheatre and Les Paul stuff...but I can't find anywhere that has a suitable playlist to download from, many have all the same one or two songs. I usually buy albums, but those are difficult to find in the stores with all the emo crap that is flooding the shelves the last couple years. Does anyone know of any good sites or programs I can use to get access to better, lesser known songs? I'm getting tired of only having the radio top 40 stuff to listen to. |

I normally upload all my records onto my harddrive with my turntable, then I run them through a program I use to clean up any sound defects they MIGHT have (an extremely off-chance!), such as pops or scratches, then re-equalize them and turn them into mp3 format with CD quality. From there, I can burn as many CD's as I want.
Whatcha lookin' for, Marie? Maybe I can help you out. |

If you're looking for Les Paul, I have a BUTTLOAD of his stuff. Damn near anything he ever recorded.

I'm not looking for specific songs, I just want to expand my repertoire past the last couple years of billboard hits and hodge podge I've found when I had time to look.

There is a website called RecordsByMail. They have a pretty wide selection. At least you'll be able to have a better pick of things than just that emo crap.

That stuff is annoying.
Pop with a whine... Like country with a death wish on disco steroids... ugh |
