Cut his nuts off as an incentive for him not to go through with his plans.

Have an honest discussion with him, find out what's going on that isn't working between us, if we had a problem that couldn't be solved, he'd not be the S/O anymore and would need to go on with his affair.

Ask him nothing...tell him nothing....for your own sake....find someone that you can trust implicitly...Consider him a learning experience..disconnect the dots...be on your way. You will never completely trust him again.

Figure out what I could do better to keep his attention. I'm not saying always......but sometimes men stray because women let them feel unappreciated.

I'm not sure that is necessarily true. Who hasn't at least thought about the grass being greener on the other side at some point in their life? It's when they actually go through with it that trust is lost.

And how...may I ask would you bcome aware of someones intentions...or thought about having an affair in the first place?? Wouldn't that person have to openly confess...or at least discuss the fact that they wer contemplating such an act.

Thus...they have been open and honest about their feelings and therefore put forth the subject for discussion...which is the first place to start if there is to be mutually acceptable resolution to the sutuation.

You are indeed correct Heather...it is not necessarily true. For me, however...I ask for nothing that I do not willingly give. I am an absolutely loyal kind of guy. I expect no less from my true love. I would put up with that from a friend not from a love. But, then I ain't a forgiving sort.

Mine too...not a whole lot of contemplating to discuss.

Let's say you came across an email they wrote to someone and that's how you found out.

Did anyone see the movie Premonition? The husband was going to cheat and then changed his mind at the last minute.

In that case...the cheating has already taken place...since the deceit is cheating...the trust is already broken. The physical act is just the consumation of the deal.

I think it would depend on how far it went. Temptation is thrown at everyone and simply thinking about it would not be cheating. However, I think ongoing communication with the person you were thinking of cheating with would probably be as hurtful as going through with the physical act.

Did you ever see the movie "Unfaithful"...how the most trajic events could be avoided if only the "right" decision had been made.
