I haven't used IE in over a year. That being said, until a year ago, I hated FireFox

SP3 has been known to screw up computers. My brother's computer is in an endless cycle of rebooting, though to the naked eye it's just plain dead. I didn't have any problems with my old laptop until I installed SP3, then it had blue screen errors galore (though...it never actually went to a blue screen, it just up and restarted without warning...perhaps they should rename that error laugh)

I have a new laptop now...but it's running the lovely (*cough* yeah right) Vista Basic. Once I have the time, it's bye-bye Windows, hello Linux drool

I use Firefox.. the issue I had with it though.. is for some reason I can't view any pdf's in it.. but I found an add-on that actually let's me click a little box in the corner here and I can open an IE tab in Firefox.. The add-ons for Firefox are excellent.. I never use IE anymore

Man if you use IE every virus in the world is aiming for you.

I NEVER open IE, use Fire Fox. do whatever u can to get F.F.
running.

From what I have read on Tech sites, malicious code writers are attacking Fire Fox because it has become so popular.

Don't think that just because you use Fire Fox you are safe.

I like the noscript and ad aware plugins for Firefox, as well as the McAfee Site advisor. They make me feel safe, not FireFox inherently. Are there similare add ons for IE? I have certain sites that WON'T accept Firefox for (get this) security reasons whoa and I'd like to have similar assurances that it's all good.

Ok, first thing is that if you installed sp3 and you are certain that is the problem and not a virus or something then you can simply go to your restore and restore your computer to before you added sp3.

As a side note for all of you FireFox lovers, did you know that it tracks and records every user name and password that you ever enter on your different websites?

So does every server every email you ever send goes through. It may be deleted, but it's still recorded long enough that if someone wanted to look they could. Privacy died a long time ago.

Of course I should probably mention that my preference is for Ubuntu. I even got a version of IE to run on it for those sites that require IE! laugh

Don't forget to try Opera. It's great many cool features..I use it beside having Firefox too.

If you don't want a lot of hassle and gizmos and worry about plugins and stuff, try Safari. It's been running on the Macs for ages as the standard web browser, it's simple and not much of eye-candy, but sure as hell it's fast (fastest) and does the job. I have it on my Mac laptop.

isn't safari missing some of the anti-spyware anti-phishing features that firfox and IE have built in?
