yes I want one myself! I want to reach the stars one day. lol

Maybe a planet would be great to look at or just those craters on the moon.

Writing to Santa Clause now. lol

You used to used binoculors until you realised telescopes left a free hand..

It is to bad you couldn't have recorded it. My biggest experience was when I saw a orange moon in Kenya at a size as if it would be right next to our planet. I couldn't believe it at the time, but it was highly fascinating. I didn't need a telescope to see this though.

Yep and WOW! I've seen the "Gash" on Mars. It makes our Grand Canyon look like a crack in the sidewalk.
And about every seven years, Saturn "flips" so instead of looking side onto a ringed planet, it looks like a round target...very cool.
Every morning I check out the "Astronomy Picture of the Day" from NASA... http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/astropix.html

There is a term for this, but I forgot as I was but a child when this happened over 30 years ago. Something with optical illusion or ????

I guess you would have to ask a astronomer.

The moon isn't actually close to the planet in reality just the position or waves. I don't know but it was exciting at the time indeed.

I did. It's amazing when you look at the moon, you have to keep adjusting it because it moves so fast across the sky.

Last year I had a star named for my son and his wife on their 4th anniversary so of course we had to purchase a telescope to look at it....Many nights are spent looking towards the stars now...

What kind of telescope did you buy? Does it matter what kind to get a good view? Any good suggestions?
