You put words in a profile?



I thought profiles were for pics only. I havent seen anyone write anything about themselves in these so called profiles

Avoid stuff like:

"I don't know what to write here."

"Anything you want to know, you'll have to ask" (I'm not asking unless you give me something to ask about.)

"I'm laid back and easy going." (This is so overused it has no meaning anymore. Why doesn't someone write, "I'm prone to violence and easily driven to murderous outbursts" -- ?? Now THAT'S interesting.)

"I love my friends and family." (Really? Most of us hate ours.)

"I like going out or staying in." (Helpful.)

Basically, it's about content. Let your profile tell something about who you are, what you think about, what's important to you, what you want to do, where you want to go, who you're looking for.

More information is better than less. (But my profile is 3209 pages long.)

And have fun with it, because people will pick up on that.

Thx LexFonteyne. I seem to have avoided the bad stuff you listed. I already got a dozen message and only 2 are over 6 words. I think most of the guys are just looking at the pictures. I feel so violated.

That's actually not unusual. Those of us who post a lot can rack up a lot of views. I'm getting more than normal since I posted about Target listing my book on their website. Don't let it get to you. If yours are anything like mine, 98% of them will never say a thing to you!

i mean yes thats great but if you look at it when your done and it feels like it is too much to read... it most likely wont be read.


while where on the subject, avoid things like "dont e-mail me if you havnt read my profile" or "dont ask me things i have already answered in my profile"...

that last one is so silly. conversations naturally start on things the average person would put in a profile.
