Ok y'all, feel free to tell me where I am wrong here, but shouldn't some of these companies be allowed to succeed or fail on their own merits, like the rest of us have to do?

The difference is we go down the tubes it is us and/ or our families. Some of these monsters go down like AIG, they take out several hundreds of millions of stockholders retirement funds. The question is where was the oversight for these financial institutions? To many vacations at resorts payed off those with oversight.huh

ya but with some of the funds approved for the financial industry. stupid move. they'll go right thru it and want more.

and the financial industry is the baseline of all the rest. They are the ones who give more $$ out .. so they need to be healthy foremost.

agreed ,but the banks are entirely different they have the possibility to hurt the the economic fabric of the U.S maybe the world !! It's not like they are bailing out a company like Kmart or something ...see that's why they call it FDIC insured !!

Exactly! And this is NO conspiracy theory: The first thing some of those execs do after getting "bailed out" is give themselves huges bonuses!! That is highway robbery!
