Careerbuilder has got to be the best in my opinion. Just make sure your resume is formatted to what recruiters and HR reps are currently looking for.

ha ha Career Sites..well the best jobs I found are the ones you get from a Friend of a friend,of a cousins buddy..or something like that and he hands in your resume to the guy in charge and says:" Oh he/she is the best for this job. He/She is awesome."

But as far as careersites..well um Volt and Spherion. They are both temp agencies, but they kinda replace that friend you may not have in the job u want. Its really all about connections landing a good job..that and experience of course.
Not all tempjobs are temp..and some of them pay VERY well..
But yea Monster,Careerbuilder..sometimes even just the companies site directly, that u are interested in working for. Just go to their website and look for job openings.

I have gone to some companys websites and I understand the job market is bad but it can't be too bad where companys aren't willing to hire etc.

I even called some companys too that I may want a job at just to see what I might be finding out.

If an online application is not available from the company,
another option is to go to the place of business and fill out an application and give them your resume. Many companies still do that. They keep your information in their files.

I've been hired that way. Many companies don't advertise openings.

To be exact, it's 6.5% and in 2000 it was 4.0%. They're anticipating that it will reach 8% before it's all over. Let's hope not!

it is insane....have so many friends with college degrees, bachelor's and master's....making 8 and 10 bucks an hour. Truely disparaging....

Thanks for the reminder, I do most of my job hunting online since most places tell you to go online now a day's, but some don't it's like a 50 / 50 chance now days.

No big deal.

Surely if I see something in person I'll try to find out about that first but most of the time I hear go to are website etc.

I really want this one job which is closer to where I live, however it seem's tough to get into like most places, I tired calling them tonight but no body was there that answered the phones in the part of the company I was calling, so I was told to call back tomorrow which is what I plan on doing.. see what happens.

Anyone who pays rent or taxes in a state can use the job placement services of the community college and university system.

The Urban League has job training and placement programs.

Jewish Vocational Services are particularly good at placeing professional or those with technical skills and you do not need to be Jewish.

If you have been laid off the employment office may have special funding to do retrain and place you and provide a living stipend.

Depending on your age Job Corp may still be open to you.

If you are under thirty Jaycees is and excellent employment networking system.
