Topic: Why do we at times let fear and pain take over... | |
---|---|
And when this does happen, what do you do to get through it and try to understand it? Well at least whats the reason behind it.
I been talking to a good friend and she feels that fear and pain in nothing but an illusion when it all comes down to it. That alot of the situation when you go through them, you find out that it wasn't that big of a deal in the first place. I have to agree. |

JMO, fear comes from "running off into the future", with the exception of rational fear when something is actually happening to you, ie, being mugged, etc. Most of us fear the unknown and will sometimes start to worry about what "could happen". Staying in the present seems to help alleivate most of my fears. Today, this moment, is good.
Pain, emotional, is harder to grip. What caused that pain will also determine how long it has an affect and to what degree. Time, again, helps to alleviate it, but depending on what causes that emotional pain is how much affect it carries from day to day and into the future. Managing the pain, rather then letting the pain manage me, works best. Again, jmo. |

Then i would say your heartless if you feel nothing and what would be the point of looking for somone that would make you happy, but then again. You said you don't feel emotions so being on here would be a wast of your time. You can't say friends because that is looking for a some kind of conection witch leads to emotions. |

Not the first time I've been told I'm heartless, figure it won't be the last time...yet I'm still here. Suppose I'm looking for that connection? No of course not, it would of course have to be something as simple as "what is the point if you don't have feelings"...you don't know me, never will, so don't make presumptions on my character based off an internet post. |

That is a tad judgemental - don't you think? Calling someone heartless because their body does not biologically respond to fear is a bit of a stretch. At no point does this lack of biological response to fear mean that the individual is unable to experience emotions. How can you can surmise that is beyond me, and totally unrealistic. Suffering from TBI does not make someone inhuman and incapable of emotions - it just may mean [as in this case] that there are some emotional responses that no longer function, biologically. Perhaps you should research the disability prior to making judgements about it... |

My brain fails to send certain responses for actions, most tend to be directed towards fear or an emotional set...not to say I don't still feel some emotions but I am missing a great deal of them due to my injury. |

Fear-False
Evidence Appearing Real Unless it's a physical threat, most fear is future/projection based, in our minds. So many times that which we fear never comes to pass. And even when it does, we survive, learn and grow. F**k Everything And Run Face Everything And Recover. |

I agree, not to say i haven't been in fear of things, but rather face it then to dwell in it. although, some things take a little longer to get through, but with a little effort getting through things can go a long ways. |

The apprehension of the event is worse than the event itself or as Sammy Hagar says' Tell me what keeps her by his side When she's treated just like dirt The fear of the dark unknown Appears to be much worse than the hurt So she stays up nights and dreams Of a knight in shining armour Who will rescue her one day |
