A Better No Bake Fudge Recipe

2 ½ cups powdered sugar
1 small can evaporated milk 5 oz.
6 oz. Semisweet chocolate chips
1 tsp vanilla
2 tbsp butter
1 cup chopped walnuts

Mix sugar and evaporated milk together in a heavy pan. Mixture will be thick. Cook on low heat and watch closely stirring it with a whisk periodically until it begins to boil. Stop stirring and let come to a full rolling boil. Then boil exactly 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Then add chocolate and vanilla. Last mix in chopped nuts. Pour into a buttered glass dish. Firms rapidly. Cover with plastic wrap. Place in refrigerator for two hours. Take out of refrigerator and cut into squares.

I made this myself, it really works, and it is so good and sweet and nutty. Enjoy everyone

Ok, maybe it's me and I'm not the best candy maker, but I made this recipe before and it didn't "fudge", ended up using it for frosting on cupcakes (which worked beautifully, I might add) rofl rofl rofl

I did something similar (granulated instead of powdered sugar) that got rave reviews. Didn't refrigerate it, though just let it set out for hours.

Oh, I'm sure it is. I'll stick to my holiday baking of 100 dozen cookies, give or take a few dozen. I don't like fudge anyway laugh

Cookies are great too. Does anyone have a simple sugar cookie recipe or ginger cookie recipe to share? smiles

Stole this off of allrecipes.com, but I'm addicted to them and every time I make any cookies some of these get made.

"Easy to make sugar cookies that are sure to please. Brown sugar gives this a rich flavor without being overly sweet. "
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 cup shortening

1 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
DIRECTIONS:
1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets. Sift together the flour, salt and baking soda, set aside.
2. In a medium bowl, cream together the shortening and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the egg and vanilla. Stir in the sifted ingredients until well blended. Roll dough in to 3/4 inch balls or tiny crescents. Place cookies 2 inches apart onto the prepared cookie sheet.
3. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
