Work in Progress

Hey Joseph
With your coat of many colors,
Did you ever feel the need
For revenge upon the choices
Of your brothers,
To which with your life you paid heed.

Hey Jesus,
As you walked around and preached.
Did you ever feel the need
Of convincing those
Who paid to you no heed.

Chorus: Revenge will not cleanse
It only causes you to bleed.
Forcing those not willing,
Promotes self-righteous greed.

Hey Pliny,
As you studied earthly ways.
Did you ever feel the need to tweak
Mother Nature’s cyclic stays?

Feel free to add if the urge strikes ya.

Hello my dear, your writing on a journey, some seem to forget ...good stuff
I give it a 10 out of 10, or 1000 out of 1000, any case it's beautiful

It popped into my mind, but what it needs are more hey so and so's (different cultures, different religions, different philosophies type thing that can get the feel of the similarities of what was found by those who took the time for self control and respect of another's path and timing rather than giving in to self-righteous greed). That last line of the chorus is not ringing right, there's something more appropriate out there.

"Revenge will not cleanse
It only causes you to bleed.
Forcing those not willing,
Your own judgment you impede." flowerforyou

"That last line of the chorus is not ringing right, there's something more appropriate out there.".......How about this Dkow?

Forcing those not willing,
surely mocks your righteous
creed.

Chorus continued...
And force won't bring about
the change that you await;
it will only promote the
energy that causes deeply
seeded hate.

Pk, Joseph is the biblical one that was sold into slavery because he would not go against his father's teachings and beliefs with his half-brothers. He and his brother Benjamin were the favored wife's, Rachel, children of their father. Joseph ended up in Egypt, running the house of one of the Pharaoh's men. The wife of this man thought Joseph was hot, but when Joseph wouldn't "service her, so to speak" she got torked and accused him of rape. Her husband knew her well, but had to hold up the societal image of the house, so he had Joseph imprisoned with orders for decent treatment. Joseph then ended up interpreting dreams for the Pharaoh's Baker and Wine Taster who were also imprisoned. The Wine Taster ended up getting out of prison and got his job back, while the Baker was executed for stealing. When the Pharaoh had a dream about cattle and one about corn stalks(7 fat ones getting overtaken and consumed by 7 skinny ones in both dreams), his magicians could not interpret them. The Wine Taster suggested the Pharaoh bring Joseph from the prison and see what his interpretation would be. He did well and ended up setting up and running the store houses of Egypt during the 7 years of plenty and the 7 years of drought and eventually ended up re-united with his family with a bit of worrying the half-brothers in the process. Disney did a movie on this also, "Joseph, King of Dreams" or some such title. The Broadway version of this story was "Joseph and the Technicolor Coat", which initially starred Donny Osmond, I believe.

Hey lover,
did you ever think to show.
without speaking those three words.

Hey hater, do your internal thorns
ever give you peace.

Hey thinker, without thought,
is your mind in a knot.

To the realist, in an imaginary world,
are you lost?

To the believer, when your life ends.
Do you still believe?

Ok,,im just real bored,wink..

Nice words DKW.....drinker
