Topic: Joe the Plumber | |

Does anyone else think this guy is rediculous? Maybe I'm just mad because I was Luigi for Holloween (my costume was sick) and everyone thought I was Joe the Plumber, but how can you be upset about a tax increase when your making 250 k a year. Downgrade your Porsche to an accord and be happy your making what your making during one of the biggest economic crisises since the depression.

One of the most powerful people in America that can influence people to vote for a particular candidate doesn't belong to an Oprah, Sean Hannity, Collin Powell, Matt Damon, Hillary Clinton, and so on, it probably belongs to Joe the Plumber right about now.
He went from throwing football in his front yard one day, to campaigning with Sen. McCain a few days later after asking a simple question that didn't have a scripted answer. Not to mention he's been on a dozen or more TV shows too. Why is there so much hate for this guy coming from the left? He questioned Obama's tax plan. It's no different than all these people questioning the candidates policies in these threads night after night. Only difference is, Joe asked his question directly to Obama. It didn't surprise me to learn that some left wing nut job politician that had given Obama the max. contribution and endorsed him, used Gov. computers to do an illegal background check on Joe. |

I think very few people are being influenced by "Joe the Plumber." The guy is being used by the Republicans. If McCain loses, I don't expect he and Cindy or Sarah Palin to be spending much time hanging with "Joe." |

I heard on the NPR news today that he was considering running for Congress someday. Why is that funny? Wouldn't it be funny if I said that I was going to do that? And I don't owe back taxes and or do plumbing without a license. |

Do you read about McCain's rally and he announced Joe Plumber for his guest? Joe Plumber wasn't there. Where did you here about somebody doing an illegal check on Joe? Wasn't it accessible to the public? |

I don't have a problem with him asking a question, I have a problem with the fact that he represented himself to be something he was not. I think that the next day when he was on "Good Morning America", he should have clarified that he is not a licensed plumber and that the question was hypothetical. I also think the McCain campaign hurt their credibility by making him "America's hero" before checking him out. Just IMO |

I heard on the NPR news today that he was considering running for Congress someday. Why is that funny? Wouldn't it be funny if I said that I was going to do that? And I don't owe back taxes and or do plumbing without a license. Not if you were being serious. I know an actual Plumber that holds a public Office here in TN. He still teaches a valve class here locally two nights per week. I owe back taxes, which should be paid off this year. I do not have a plumbing lience either. |

I would be furious if a plumber was working on my house and didn't have a license. I would even call the BBB. |

I doubt even Joe would try to go straight to the top. |
