I have seen a situation where a man was interested in a woman, and talked to her for quite a while and became knowing deeply of her past and became interested,and yet both parties were open to the fact that they talked to others.And so an opportunity arose that one could date someone closer, and did...yet the other party was very supportive and even inquired how they were doing and wished the best and tried to be a friend still.So at what point does someone stop talking to a person out of selfishness and possesiveness as a possible mate..or do they continue to be supportive and caring as a friend only holding the same feelings?

at some point, you have to ease off the other person, not lead em on...if they are truly supportive, they'll understand..

i always look at the "intent"--if there's intent to it, there's an issue...if there's not, there ain't...

It is tough when people are in different places about a relationship. It is kind of like rowing a boat with one oar.
