Having blood drawn doesn't tell them if you are high on marijuana or not. I assume possession of marijuana gives cause to look for other substances, hence the blood work.

Some states have decriminalized small amounts of marijuana for personal consumption. Some states have decriminalized marijuana for medical use. The Feds refuse to recognize that and continue to prosecute users in those state as felonies which is right? Do the people decide or the Government? and does God care if anyone smoke marijuana or not? i've always taken the stance that all drugs should be decriminalized, regulated and sold by the government. that way, the crime would be off the streets and the drugs would be ensured of being exactly as what they are marketed, a consistent quality, and less risk of fatal results because of additives. i don't really buy into the fact that marijuana is a gateway drug (i think there must be other issues involved, such as an addictive personality). there are still people like me who are never gonna stick something up their noses, or inject a needle. i don't really condone the use the drugs but i feel that anything that can be done to cut down on crime, including public, daylight street shootings, which are probably mostly drug and gang related, can only be a good thing. there's only so much people can decide; otherwise how do you achieve an orderly society? |

Some states have decriminalized small amounts of marijuana for personal consumption. Some states have decriminalized marijuana for medical use. The Feds refuse to recognize that and continue to prosecute users in those state as felonies While I don't smoke the stuff myself -- I tried it 10 or 12 times in my band days, and all it ever did was give me a headache -- I have to question the overall benefits of prosecuting people for this. I suppose since there are are no other, more serious crimes for the police to deal with, it's entirely justified. I do know people who have suffered from long-term use of the stuff. That's one reason I don't do it myself. But it's not my place to tell them what to do with their own bodies/minds -- as long as they don't bring it around me. which is right? Do the people decide or the Government? Good question. My thinking is, the people are too stupid and manipulable, and the government is too corrupt. I can't believe they couldn't come up with some sort of a legal licensing/distribution system, if they wanted to. Alcohol is legal and it kills people, in massive numbers, on a regular basis -- how many people are killed by smoking pot? I don't know the answer, but I'd bet it's damn few. and does God care if anyone smoke marijuana or not? As an atheist, I would have to say "no" -- |
