i dont get why so many people are upset by those who view the mingle site as a forum upon which they can count on people they deem to be their friends for opinions and encouragement in times of personal difficulty.... do they hurt you in some way?

i dont get why so many people are upset by those who view the mingle site as a forum upon which they can count on people they deem to be their friends for opinions and encouragement in times of personal difficulty.... do they hurt you in some way? i wouldn't use the word 'upset'; rather it gets repetitive and old - fast. if the topic is worded in way that seeks general information and/or feedback, i don't mind participating and offering some advice. however, most of them are worded 'i'm such a nice guy, why did this happen?', 'i did everything for him, why doesn't he love me?', 'what can i do to win back her love?'. you can't make someone love you, and one of the the hardest lessons of all is to love someone without expecting anything at all from them. if you hold a bunch of sand clutched in a closed fist, it'll all seep through; but if you open your palm and let the sand rest there, you can keep it indefinitely. i can't conjure up my sympathy or empathy for a person who fails to accept these simple concepts. they all seem to want sunshine blown up their butts and have their egos stroked. i'm not very good at either and, after years of reading the same types of people saying almost the exact words, i tend to lose my patience. |

Mostly its about attention, and hearing that there are others who experienced hard times that can relate to the person, so they dont feel so quite alone.And other times just too hear anothers "voice" and consolation when down in the dumps and offers of advice, that they already know, but like to hear it from another.Mainly its just a person needing a little comfort,or a ego boost (bah)..but there are some that will always whine and say woe is me to obvious solutions, and they are lost and the constant attention just keeps them from focusing on fixing there own probs.But there are some random people, that just like a little help and arent "whiners",those are the ones worth trying to help
