So Sarah sat down with the scary James Dobson and told him god would help McCain/Palin win.

This sort of thinking, that God supports only people of certain parties, really disturbs me. How can anyone who truly believes in God as the creator of all things presume to say anything like that? It's really very sad.

Below are her remarks.

FINDLAY, Ohio (CNN) –- In an interview posted online Wednesday, Sarah Palin told Dr. James Dobson of “Focus on the Family” that she is confident God will do “the right thing for America” on Nov. 4.

Dobson asked the vice presidential hopeful if she is concerned about John McCain’s sagging poll numbers, but Palin stressed that she was “not discouraged at all.”

“To me, it motivates us, makes us work that much harder,” she told the influential Christian leader, whose radio show reaches millions of listeners daily. “And it also strengthens my faith because I know at the end of the day putting this in God’s hands, the right thing for America will be done, at the end of the day on Nov. 4.”

Dobson praised Palin's opposition to abortion rights, to which the governor affirmed that she is “hardcore pro-life.”

She said giving birth to her son Trig, who has Down syndrome, has given her the opportunity “to be walking the walk and not just talking the talk” in her long-standing opposition to abortion.

Dobson — who has never been warm to McCain — asked Palin if her “private conversations” with the GOP nominee had revealed a true commitment to the Republican party’s pro-life platform, which calls for a constitutional amendment banning abortions.

"I do, from the bottom of my heart," Palin assured Dobson. “John McCain is solidly there on those solid planks in our platform that build the right agenda for America.”

She also thanked her supporters — including Dobson, who said he and his wife were asking “for God’s intervention” on election day — for their prayers of support.

“It is that intercession that is so needed,” she said. “And so greatly appreciated. And I can feel it too, Dr. Dobson. I can feel the power of prayer, and that strength that is provided through our prayer warriors across this nation. And I so appreciate it.”

The interview was taped on Monday by phone while Palin was campaigning in Colorado Springs, where “Focus on the Family” is headquartered.

Why do I post like I do? Here's the answer.

I used to be a republican.

I am so offended by the direction the party has taken I cannot in good conciseness support any candidate who embodies nearly everything that I object to in the new republican party.

Palin is a poster child for what went wrong with the party.

I voted republican in the primaries by the way and had supported McCain in the past.

I have watched McCain with interest over the years. From one issue to the next in this last year or so he continued to show his win at any cost thinking.

McCain deserted the positions and qualities I once found admirable and has embraced those, from the religious right, he once strongly criticized.

Again and again, with only an occasional incidence of the old McCain slipping out, he has proven he will do anything to win. Even if that anything is deserting his own principles. He has employed the same tactics in this election that defeated him in North Carolina that he bitterly criticized.

McCain selection of Palin was the last straw for me. By embracing this clear unqualified religious, anti-choice, corrupt, anti-intellectual and incompetent woman and campaigning on the politics of fear, by embracing the religious right, by playing at hatred....the list goes on...he did not just lose my vote he lost my respect and even more he earned my contempt.

I want my party back. Some of the things I want before I can support the party again. I want states rights, a respect for the privacy of the individual, strict separation of church and state, small government, fiscal responsibility, a foreign policy that does not engage in cowboy tactics but that is capable of putting the smack down if we are attacked, an America that is that shinning city on a hill.

Some might say I am a social liberal and a fiscal conservative. That makes me an old school conservative.

Remember the party that once was?

Until that happens I will work to be sure these half ass nutjobs and greedy bastards do not get elected and do not profit from their corruption of true conservative ideals.

From O's X-Pastors ----Claiming that Wright's 36 years as pastor of the church -- the largest United Church of Christ congregation, with 8,000 members -- is being demeaned, Rev. John H. Thomas, UCC general minister and president, said, "It saddens me to see news stories reporting such a caricature of a congregation that has been such a blessing to the UCC’s Wider Church mission … It's time for us to say 'No' to these attacks and declare that we will not allow anyone to undermine or destroy the ministries of any of our congregations in order to serve their own narrow political or ideological ends."

Neither Wright nor Obama was present at the church on Sunday, but all of talk news has been on the subject of the pastor, whose many sermons have been captured on video and replayed across television and the Internet over the past few weeks.

Some of the more flamboyant sermons have included statements saying that the U.S. created the AIDS virus to kill African Americans and that the United States was asking for the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks because it had supported "state-sponsored terrorism" against black South Africans and Palestinian
-----Wright spoke admiringly of Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, long criticized for making anti-Semitic comments. Wright described Farrakhan as a hugely influential figure – “one of the most important voices in the 20th and 21st century.”

“Louis Farrakhan is not my enemy,” Wright said. “He did not put me in chains, he did not put me in slavery and he didn’t make me this color.”

---- For 20 yrs Obama family sat in that church.
Rev. W married them, baptized both his kids, there is no way O didn't pick up/ nod his head when he was there. a potential 1,040 Sundays. He said the man was like a father to him. Do you honestly believe that Obama did not know what was in the man’s heart and mind? Do you honestly believe that he NEVER heard him preach that kind of hatred? If you do, you’re a fool!---"I can no more disown him than I can disown my white grandmother," Obama said. More than once, he said, she had "uttered racial or ethnic stereotypes that made me cringe." ---- end copy---

On the other hand, God does play a role in this ---copy-- "I would cast a vote for John McCain and Sarah Palin," he said. "But friends, it's your choice to make, it's not my choice. I won't be in the voting booth with you."

All told, 33 pastors in 22 states were to make pointed recommendations about political candidates Sunday, an effort orchestrated by the Arizona-based Alliance Defense Fund.
---end copy-- It is not proper to have a pastor \endorse a candidate - they could loose their IRS non profit status over it, but it appears many are willing. God plays a hand.... BB

PS. one Rev. Manning is very out-spoken against Obama,---copy--ATLAH World Missionary Church is an impressive church filled with extraordinary people. Its ministries are vital to the implementation of the great vision - 50,000 righteous men living for the Lord in the community of ATLAH. (For more information on ATLAH, go to ATLAH: That's What God Said in About Us).

The tenacious efforts of The Hon. James David Manning have initiated unique opportunities for ministry within his congregation. That list includes:

ATLAH World Ministries
ATLAH Superior Foods
Great Tomorrows Schools
The Ethiopian Project
The Gettysburg Project
The Nile River Project
The Witch Doctor Project

he likes Sarah (might wish to google Manning + Obama, see some outspoken videos)his blog, radio announcements, sermons, many are listening to him. Huge following BB

Didn't Bush say that he was told by God to invade Iraq and attack Osama bin Laden? I guess God forgot to tell him that Bin Laden wasn't in Iraq.laugh But I think Bush already knew that.
