Abandon....to yield oneself without restraint or moderation; give oneself over to natural impulses, usually without self-control: to abandon oneself.

Think back to your first love, at 16, early 20s...when you approached life, love this way......it was so pure.

I want that back. I want to go back before the lies, cheating and disappointment. I've learned a lot about myself along the way, a lot about people, men, relationships....still..I long to be the girl of long ago who was capable of approaching life this way, loving with a trusting heart without question. I want to be that girl who is capable of being that innocent and vulnerable. I miss her.

I looked at pictures this wk-end of a friend whos I suspect is in her very late 50's or early 60's
Just got married!!!!!

The way she stood, and the look on her face, her smile, reminded me of a school girl.

(no emoticon for Joy?)

As we season in years, we all year for *abandon*.

However, you must decide for yourself, given your apparent acquired knowledge...do you desire wreckless abandon?

As you posted, abandon means "without restraint or moderation; give oneself over to natural impulses, usually without self-control: to abandon oneself."

Is this really what you want, or what you THINK you want because it seems appealing?

I say seek what is missing in your life.

Soul-based excitement can be spawned from something much deeper than wreckless abandon.

Certainly not minimizing here, but if what you seek is: "something to take your breath away, excite you, tickle your senses, make you awake n the middle of the night for no reason at all, capture your heart like no other...

...adopt a Golden Retriever puppy!

Well, still, with all my experience, yes this is still what I hope for, and really, I don't think it is unreasonable, but as evidenced by the replies here, are any of us, with any history of disappontment, open to it?

BTW....thanks for the only thoughtful response to this flowerforyou

Nope...yer only young once and it will never be quite the same.

However, a blind camping date this early spring did refresh me some things fa sure. There was a sense of abandonment for both parties, so I think that that is going to be key.
