I went to a bar by myself once, and it was probably the most boring experience of my life. The ladies I tried to talk to ignored me, and the only ones who WOULD show any interest were old enough to be my MOM!!!
![]() And THEN there was the rather "obvious" transvestite who bought me a glass of red wine. Now THAT was a scary experience. ![]() ![]() |

I've always been a loner and am just as comfortable going out alone as I am with someone.

I did it out in America and found it fine, i sat at the bar and got talking to various people each time no problem, people were always very friendly.
I have been out to pubs here in England on my own many times, its often done here, its normal in pubs anyhow. People arent usually as friendly or socialble though, if i go out alone i would normally drink alone. I dont do it very often nowadays, and when i did it was normally to sink a few quick pints, so i probably wasnt all that sociable myself. |

I have to the little hole in the wall in my town where I know people. It still was uncomfortable to me. I felt like people were staring at me thinking "oh there's the desperate single woman looking for a date" when really I just wanted to get out of the house and have some adult conversation. Single gals seem to get a negative vibe going out alone (or even in pairs) around here, the married ones think your looking at their husbands and the single ones think you are competition.
