I had to download Windows Movie Maker as it did not come with my "borrowed" copy of XP. Movie Maker crashes on me literally every 30 seconds. I am wondering if it is because of my "borrowed" copy of XP is the reason for it crashing. I thought trying to download a different copy of Movie Maker and it was a no go.

Anybody have a reason why this is happening?

I am just going to quietly bump this up, as I am still having problems here and really want to get my homework done.

What message do you get when it crashes? Is there a .dll or .exe or a .anyextension file that is named? Find the file (do a search) and change the file name too temp*.xxx where * is the filename and xxx is the extension.

It does not give me any error message. It just shuts down.

Your registry is probably screwed up, honestly with a "borrowed" version of windows there may be nothing that can be done.

You could always go and buy a copy of XP so that it's no longer "borrowed".

http://www.brothersoft.com/registry-repair-36275.html You can try this program, though I've never used it. (Research verified however)

It may fix the issue, but it could also cause more issues with a "borrowed" version.

I am not really all that interested in giving Microsoft any more money then they already have. But thank you.

Excuse me, I really do not have to put up with this, you know that right? And trust me it is NOT something I will put up with either.

And FYI I do not watch TV.

I asked for advice yes. And I created a board for that advice. Does not mean you start following me around and start harassing me over it.

Cause quite frankly now you are off topic as this board has NOTHING to do with said advice.
