As a breast cancer survivor I can't begin to stress the importance of self examinations and yearly checks..

And remember, even if you have had a partial or full mastectomy, check for lumps the same as you would for a self breast exam...flowerforyou

My mother is also a survivor, I was raised to do monthly exams (have taught my daughters as well) and as soon as I was old enough I scheduled a mammogram.

My son apparently also listened, because he tells his girlfriend all the time. Proudly supports breast cancer awareness, when asked why by his friends his reply is always the same...."we love the boobies, so we must protect the boobies". I kind of laugh, but he makes me proud.
laugh i like that quote.

Which is a good thing to do Brooke! I know of several people diagnosed in their 30's!

I had the same thoughts but at the age of 38 I was diagnosed with advanced breast cancer...It is never too early to start especially if it runs in the family..

Getting mine before the month is out! Whoo-hoo.

Hope they use the nice machine and not the one that tore me. Ugh.

It does run in my family, as well as cervical cancer. I regularly check myself and go to the doctor. About 2 years ago I had a hysterectomy (sp) because of numerous cysts and polups (sp), I also had several positive tests prior to the surgery. My doctor and I decided surgery would be best.
