cross to get there.

Was it the Don or the West Don River.
I just wanted to get out of the city like areas all the time when I was
a kid. Still do.
There was a graveyard with a tank I remember playing in also. It was
just off Younge and Sheppard. I was in trouble quite a bit when I was a
kid.laugh
It's not like I was being bad, I just wanted to explore my surroundings.
It didn't matter to me that I was 6.
I'd like to visit all those areas the next time I'm in Toronto. The last
time I was in too much of a rush. I was on a schedule and had to be in
Oklahoma on a certain date.

I can't imagine a tank and a cemetary at Yonge and Sheppard. Perhaps
around Wilson and near Bathurst. Downsview.

The place I think you're talking about with the army tank and the
cemetary is between Wilson Avenue and Sheppard and between Allen Road
east of Keele. There was a Canadian Armed Force base there . It's now a
big park called Downsview and it's where the Pope and The Stones were
when they came here.
laugh They weren't here at the same time now.laugh

I forget I have access to maps on the net.
The golf course is the Don Valley Golf Course.
The cemetary is York Cemetary.
I don't know what the hospital was called but it was somewhere near Jane
and Finch.
It's been 28 years since I moved to Alberta.

I've never lived around the area you're talking about. I'm kind of
guessing here. And it's changed so much over the years.

I know for a fact though, that if you were hatched (born) in the
hospital at the corner of Bayview and Sheppard, it is called North York
Gebneral. My youngest son was born there.
Now they call it North York, Bronson Hospital.

I just found Mascot Place in my old Perly's map book. They call it
Mascot Vale in here.

I was just looking at the area on google maps. Not enough detail for
bike paths through the river valley. I did see the building we lived in
and both aunt and uncles houses.
Gwendolen Park was where I used to escape through to the golf course.
I'm sure the hospital was somewhere on Finch near Jane. I'll phone my
mom later and ask her.
