Nope, not many places where it's a necessity at the moment so many people don't learn how. Please, do I? I could do it with someone else telling me what to do, but on my own? Not real likely. I can't even start a fire and I'd be the one eating the poisonous mushrooms.

did you know if you grind up acorns you get flour to make bread? add a bit of sugar and it cuts the sour taste right out.

Actually, I did read something about that somewhere, you can also make "coffee" out of it. Supposed to be bitter as hell, though. But, if you're out in the middle of nowhere with no survival stuff, where you gonna get sugar?

its not hard to find sugar in the wild, just gotta know what plants to mess with and what not to touch. and its a really bad idea to use poison ivy as toliet paper

just knowing what trees to tap for the sap, what plants create a good source of sugar, things like that.
