Topic: Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008 TV series) | |

I am a die hard Star Wars fan and thought that this show wouldn't live up to the standards of a fan like myself. I watched it Friday. (it airs Fridays at 9pm Eastern, 8pm Central) and it's a pretty good way to spend 30 minutes. Cartoon Network will re-air tonight so check your local listings. Any Star Wars fans out there? now that's a fan! great episodes I catch them every time they rerun them |

I've liked it so far. While the Jedis are constantly in it, it seems to be much less focused on the lightsaber lads than the movies are.

I've been following it. I really like it so far. I still need to see the original movie though.

I'm at work when it comes on, and i just always forget to Tivo it. I just wish they kept the same art work style in the 2nd season instead of the 3D CGI models.

Somehow, the type of animation lends itself to the flavor of the stories they are telling. These are more like a serial (in 3-4 episode arcs). Somehow the flat models wouldn't work for that.
Not sure what I'm saying here. |

Mindsi, I hope you remembered to record it. Pretty good episode tonight... I did. It was good too. Saw it and the new Batman series. I missed the new Batman series. Is it any good? Very Silver age (Green Arrow has no beard) for example. Batman is in the blue and gray costume. Very well done, although it's targeted at kids, obviously. Last episode, they dealt with the previous Blue Beetle, while avoiding using the words dead or death. Changed the circumstances a bit too (okay, a lot!) but they got the point across. Each episode starts with a teaser that is the climax of Batman teaming up with someone on an adventure. They wrap up real quick, then after the commercial the main episode starts. I think it's pretty slick, because this way you can preview characters and villains to see how they go over without committing a whole episode to them. They seem to be avoiding Superman and Wonder Woman, and some more female team ups (even if just in the teasers) would be nice. They don't have Kevin Conroy doing the voice, but the guy is close, (consciously or unconsciously), just a "kinder and gentler" take on it. |
