The righties loved the way John McCain's Annie Oakley corrected Joe Biden at the VP debate. You betcha. Yeah, drillin' along all our coastlines can be done safely... Here's what the Gov. said: "The chant is "drill, baby, drill..." "Barack Obama and Senator Biden, you've said no to everything in trying to find a domestic solution to the energy crisis that we're in. You even called drilling -- safe, environmentally-friendly drilling offshore as raping the outer continental shelf." Here's what happened to the "safe, environmentally-friendly drilling offshore" when Hurricane Ike hit: "At least a half million gallons of crude oil spilled into the Gulf of Mexico and the marshes, bayous and bays of Louisiana and Texas, according to an analysis of federal data by The Associated Press." http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081005/ap_on_go_ot/hurricane_environment I didn't know that happened to the Gulf of Mexico. That is terrible!! AP story on how the environmental impact of Ike is just being realized.
