Sorry to say but I don't agree that all of those things were a GOOD
thing in 1973. I don't believe in "paddling" a child, especially not for something that they can't control (like ADHD)and guns are never something to joke about.I do agree that sometimes it goes overboard but with all that has happened by NOT reacting well (deaths, lawsuits, ect.) Can you blame them? I know that even though there ARE faults I couldn't do much better. ![]() |

That is soooo funny.... i love it... so very true.

The thing is, simple childhood "overactivity" is being incorrectly
diagnosed as "ADHD." When I was a kid, they didn't drug you in order to get you to behave. The incidences of true ADHD (though not known at the time by that name, of course) were rare. And I certainly don't believe in paddling a child who has a true disability, but I sure as hell would paddle a kid with a smart mouth who simply didn't think he had to abide by the rules. |

Jean it wasn't that long ago that the first result (1973 version) was
still the case. I graduated in 1994 and those were still the rules; of course I grew up in a small red-neck town. However I definately remember taking apart firecrackers and filling up dixie cups full (and once a big gulp cup) covering the top with plaster and blowing up anthills- and that was at Boy Scout camp ![]() |
