There's always the possibility that it's reverse psychology, right?

More like, you can't unread a sentence once you read it...

just like you can't unclick a profile if it tells you not to read it if you are an old creepy man

I think you're over thinking things. Also, how do you know these people that you're not attracted to would be attracted to you? Since when does a profile view equal attraction?

a) Because I'm their type.

Ah, I see. Well, good luck then. Though, you do know that you can turn on "stealth mode" and view profiles without anyone knowing, right?

I did not know that but I will certainly retain the newly found information and put it to good use.

Thank you :)

Well, that's a good point, and I certainly can't refute it!

I think it's funny though, how so many people view my profile -- and this is almost always people who don't post in the forums -- and I never hear a peep out of them. Well, almost never. And the ones who look are either 19-24 or over 50. That whole 25-49 demographic just can't seem to detect me at all. What's up with that?

And how many are looking in Stealth Mode?

I really don't get the point of Stealth Mode. Here's a profile, created (ostensibly) for the purpose of being available for all the world to see, and I'm gonna look, but I don't want anybody to know I looked. OK.

I guess I just don't see the big deal about someone knowing you looked at their profile. I look at them for various reasons. Many times, just to find out a little more about someone who posted something in the forums. Looking at someone's profile doesn't necessarily mean I'm attracted to that person, though.

LOL that sounds kind of High School. If someone thinks I am attracted to them because I looked at their profile they would be taking a huge leap; sometimes off a cliff because some times I look at a profile to see WTF someone who says something really outlandish would be like. Not that their profile might tell me. If you are bored perving is sometimes entertaining. If you think someone is stalking you just because they look at your profile you need mental health services IMHO.

My account --> Settings --> Turn on stealth mode.

You get "HTML guilt trip" warnings after that: "ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO DO THIS???!!! YOU KNOW THAT PEOPLE WON'T BE ABLE TO SEE YOU NOW??? I MEAN, ARE YOU REALLY SURE???" (and so on)

to NOT click on someone's profile because you know they will know you looked?

Nah...being 678 000 000 miles from any other known life form, they are safe...

Stealth mode is your friend for that reason. Nobody ever knows I look. It is like perving on a whole new level.

I WANT to know when they look. It's the only way I can figure out what's wrong with them.
