You and he have my sympathy. Been there. I know the hair clot is binding and pulling at the flesh. Sorry. A second person is needed, or a sling restraint, like vets use. Braun trimmers would do the work slowly, but it doesn't solve how to hold the cat still.

Well, hey...try the French poodle look...trim a lot away, selectively...and it won't look like a giant furball problem. Maybe he will like being laughed at a lot.
