Topic: Moms are the best!!!! | |
---|---|
Feel the need to make a happy post this evening. My Mom drove over 500 miles to be with me this week and tomorrow, she will be with me to walk through a house I am interested in purchasing.
Perhaps because she was recently widowed, she needed to feel 'needed' once again as a parent or perhaps she just needed to feel 'needed' by her kids again....who knows. I am just grateful that my Mom was here this week. We had a girls' weekend in St. Louis and totally pampered ourselves and now back on my turf and I have the chance to spoil my Mom. Can't get any better than this! Please share the best with your parents (now that you are older and responsible) and what you can now do for them! |

My mom is awesome also. It seems that no matter what trials and tribulations come my way she is the stable body to lean on. She won't be here forever but I got to say that I love her for being here now.

Lucky Me!
Last year this time, Mom became a widow and I talked with my Dad about this new job. He made it happen (or so I am convinced) and one year later, Mom is availing me yet another portion of my dream. I cannot express just how much support she has given me in the past year, as well as her personal grieving. Mom's are so incredibly strong. Gotta love 'em. Thank you all for sharing...and I encourage more. I know it is not Mother's Day...but we need to celebrate Moms year-round! |

My Mother passed 23 years ago I loved her deeply then as I do now,, It was not until she became so ill that I realized what an amazing women she really was, her
strength, her love for life her unconditional love for her kids,,, I miss her deeply as I have become a mother and now a grandmother I am blessed each day knowing within me my Mother lives and guides me daily. |

I feel for you LAMom. Mine passed away Valentines Day 06. For all of you that still have your Mom, tell them you love them often, thank them, and listen to them! Funny how the older we got, the more wise they became. So many times I wish I could call her up!

I lost my mom when I was just 18. It was a huge shock to all. Took a nap and never woke up.
Sadly enough, I don't remember her voice, her mannerisms, or much of any of her behaviors. But I still miss her presence so. She gave and gave and gave to us. And op., it's not always that a mom needs to feel needed. I have 5 kids and do things out of the way just because I love them, not out of need. |

This is cool....one year ago, my Dad was in hospice and I talked to him about taking on this poasition. My Dad (as he was dying) told me to make this my best effort and I did. Dad passed the day before my interview, but I knew that he was my guardian angel in all of this. Unfortunately, I had to turn around that same day to attend Dad's funeral and be there for my mom. Thank goodness I had a couple of weeks before the job offer to assess Dad's wishes and make things happen for my Mom.
Fortunately, we were all afforded the time to make it all happen and to appease all of the wishes. |
