Rain drops splatter against the window pane
Wind waving the yellowed leaves all about
Leaning my head against the cool glass
A fire burning within me that is out of control
Alternately filled with dread and hope
Conflicted and confused, flashing back in time
Train wheels clacking and clicking on the tracks
Carrying me away to a place of serenity and peace
Life spun out of control and dropped me into an abyss
Bottomless it seemed and yet I have climbed to the top
Teetering on the edge knowing I must climb over

Thrown into a field in the middle of nowhere
Passage back into time eclipsed
The gateway to peace and serenity just beyond my reach
Make my way back home once again, the sounds of the trains wheels clicking and clacking along the tracks
Now just a distant memory in my mind
Picking up the pieces, gluing what remains back together again
Time now speeds forward, out of control once again
Hours pass quickly seeming like mere seconds
Grains of sand fall from one to the other
And in between the falling the picture becomes clear
Destiny has not yet been met
