I don't really give advice, I just give my opinion.....I think the boards should be mostly for fun & entertainment....too many serious people that say they have a sense of humor but you wonder if they ever really laugh(not sarcastically either).
And its true what you say....people give advice or their opinion & think they own the content of a thread....but they really don't know.... the OP may describe a situation, however, the details are scant & we weren't there so as posters its just speculation.... |

Well that might be true if you go along with the assumption that everyone is single by choice. Some of us actually lost our spouses to circumstances beyound our control. |

If I wanted dates, this is not the place I would look for em. (No offense to the site, it's a great site.) I can find dates in real life when and if I want em. You are assuming that everyone who belongs to this site is here to find dates, or because they've lost at love, or because they are lonely. That is not always the case. I join social sites because I find the atmosphere and ambiance, and the discussion forums, entertaining. I put that I'm looking for friends in my profile because THAT'S WHAT I'M INTERESTED IN. (lol) I know I'm not alone in that. Many of the members here are here for the friends that they have made on the site, and not looking to hook up with anybody. As for the "advice" part of your question: If I think that some experience or knowledge I have may help a person who is expressing a problem, then I try to help em. If nothing else, it's still entertaining to read about all the different situations people get themselves into. And speaking of entertainment: I always get a laugh out of guys who think they are being SO EFFING ORIGINAL by asking this question. yours in Chaos, Scarlett It does advertise itself as a Free Online Dating Service Scarlett. So one would assume in signing up that that is its main function. I am not going to speak for Etrain but I would venture to guess he really could care less if you think his post is original. Your post came off to me as very patronizing. Not a real good way to make friends if that is what your here for. I for one enjoy hearing what the opposite sex (and the women for that matter) have to say about relationship advice. I hadn't dated in like 15 years so I don't mind at all getting some tips. Some of us aren't as lucky as you say you are with dating. Good luck in your quest for friends. |

because we all have situations and experiences that we can use to contribute to help someone out in the future... i can give advice on the correct techiniuque of sporking an ex in the eye... first you STAB.. then SCOOP!! someone else may have advice on how to burry a body,,, another on how best to hide the evidence... and whne added all up... one day one of us will aucutualy commit the perfect crime.. then the advice forum will have no more use...  
totaly my opinion tho..

..good observation...good point...indeed - why would one share "right answers" or smart knowledge with others if they can keep that information to themselves for their own competitive advantage.....perhaps ..we all want to take a little break from reality...and feel a little more important in places that value us a little more...such as sites like these...
