So yesterday, i gave blood, afterwards i did everything i was told... waited one hour to have a cigarette, ate lots, had lots of fluids...
However, about two hours afterwards, i was at a friends house for a weekly poker game with a bunch of friends... i remember reaching for a cigarette.. and the next thing i know i'm being carried out on a stretcher. Apperantly I passed out cold, wasnt responding to anyone. So i was rushed to the emergancy room. I guess i'm just happy that i have friends who care enough to help me out like that, and then follow the ambulance to the hospital to make sure i was ok. But as for today? I'm just going to take it easy, and relax, get some sleep, rest up |

Wow Sorry to hear your news. Hope you are feeling better today. Your lucky to have nice friends.
Don't know if it relative but thank you for giveing blood and saving a life. FYI for you and Mingle pals hit with unexpected medical expenses. If You are and emancipated minor (live out on your own not with your parents) it is a good time to write an will, a medical directive, and appoint a durable power of attorney so that if you can not make decisions for yourself your wishes will be known. Depending if you are going to get hung with and ER room bill or not you might want to ask for HillBurton Act assistance which will forgive up to 80% of your bill if your income is under $55,000 a year. You have to ask for and application or the hospital will not tell you about it but if the hospital gets any federal money they have to let you apply. You can also ask the hospital to "forgive" some of the bill up front when making a payment plan. Not a bad idea because after 30 days without a signed payment plan they can start chargeing you interest and or collection fees. Don't just ignore the bill because it can really mess up your credit. If you are a college student anywhere you maybe have student coverage you are not aware of. Some municipality's give students discounts on ambulance services. Talk to your student advisor. Keep all your medical expenses for taxes; or later applying for student loans and scholarships. Good luck...Stay well. |
