I have a toothache so bad I have been up almost all night, I am in tears. There is no way that I am going to be able to get to a dentist until tomorrow. I have been popping Aleve like they are candy. Does anybody have a remedy for pain?

If you are in this much pain, maybe you should go to the emergency room at the nearest hospital. They can give you some pain relief; too much Aleve will kill your stomach. Hope you feel better soon.

Alleve doesn't work for me at all. You can combine Tylenol and Ibuprofen for more pain killing effect. flowerforyou flowerforyou flowerforyou

sorry to hear this Melissa, there is nothing worse then a toothache. Have you tried rinsing your mouth with warm salt water?

I agree with this....especially if you've been taking a lot of Alleve. Go to Urgent Care.

There is a product calle "Oragel".
It is applied directly to the tooth.

Whiskey on a cotton ball, then hold it against the sore tooth, is what my grandma said to do.

ER is a good idea also.

I always kind of swish around warm salt water around the tooth...and maybe a war m compress on your cheek or a heating pad...and if you can find it...Numzit...it is a teething med for babies and actually does numb the area, works better than orajel...sure do hope you feel better Whisper:cry:  flowers flowers flowers flowers flowers

so sorry whisper. That's one of the worst physical pains I've ever known and it happened to me. I tried everything, including some vicodin my son-in-law had left over from surgery. It didn't work. I ended up at the ER twice! They had to give me shots both times.

I have tried salt water, mouth wash seems to bring some relief but only for a short time.

Thought of the alcohol thing to, but straight alcohol makes me vomit.

I guess I will go to the Emerg. or to urgent care at the least. Just have to wait for them to open.

Trust me I have used that to. The pain seems to surpass the effect of it.

Melissa, if you can find it (and stomach the taste and smell) clove oil works wonders!
