Pictures: “Lego Block” Prison Cells Readied In Utah

Debate rages over blocks that can be snapped together to build prisons anywhere, at any time

Steve Watson

Thursday, Sept 25 2008

Pictures of concrete prison cells being unloaded from wagons in Utah earlier this month have surfaced on the internet, causing a storm of debate over their purpose.

The cells are designed specifically so they can be snapped together side by side and on top of each other like lego blocks to form rows and columns.

Each block looks to contain 2 cells of little more than six feet square each.

The pictures first appeared earlier this week on the alternative news website Fourwinds10.com.

According to the owners of that website, the pictures were taken on Monday, September 8 2008 at around 3 PM at University Ave, East Bay, Provo in Utah.

Since that time they have spread to various forums and websites, sparking off a lively debate as to who these cells are for and in what circumstances their use is envisioned.

Those suspecting a sinister use for the cells have described them as “portable prisons” and argued that they may be being readied to deal with mass civil unrest in America.

The surfacing of the pictures dovetails with news that U.S. troops returning from duty in Iraq will be carrying out homeland patrols in America from October 1st in complete violation of Posse Comitatus for the purposes of helping with “civil unrest and crowd control”.

Others have also linked the discovery of the cells to a similar story of hundreds of thousands of plastic coffins recently uncovered in Georgia.

The less conspiracy minded have asserted that the precast concrete facilities have been in production since the 1980s and represent what is known as “modular construction”, which is also used sometimes to build hotels and other permanent structures.

“They integrate everything at the factory (lighting/plumbing/security hardware) and ship it directly to where ever the prison/jail/correctional facility/internment camp is at. Lift cells up, drop in place, splice a few wires and pipes, and voila! Instant prison.” writes one commenter on reddit.

What is not up for debate however is that the United States has less than 5 percent of the world’s population, but it now has almost a quarter of the world’s prisoners.

According to the prison studies center, the US has 751 people in prison or jail for every 100,000 in population. That means that if you count only adults, one in 100 Americans is locked up. Those figures dwarf any other nation, including China which is four times more populous than the US.

However, from these pictures it is apparent that there still aren’t enough cells, and more cheap and quick prisons are being built with taxpayer dollars.

Another fact not up for debate is that there is a coordinated federal government program to build civilian detention camps at undisclosed locations throughout the United States, in conjunction with the Army and the Pentagon.

There is no debate over the fact that the prison industry in the “land of the free” is out of control.

Anyone got a opinion on this, I think it's kinda strange and awfully coincidental.

Here are the mentioned plastic coffins... WTF are they planning for?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDSNhoUnQrY

Yep, these are cheap plastic coffins. Hundreds of thousands of them. Don’t believe it?
Why coffins? Why in the middle of Georgia?

Well, apparently the Government is expecting a half million people to die relatively soon, and the Atlanta Airport is a major airline traffic hub, probably the biggest in the country, which means Georgia is a prime base to conduct military operations and coordination. It is also the home of the CDC, the Center for Disease Control. I don’t want to alarm anyone, but usually you don’t buy 500,000 plastic coffins “just in case something happens,” you buy them because you know something is going to happen. These air tight seal containers would be perfect to bury victims of plague or biological warfare in, wouldn’t they?

Is something going on, you think?

Well, of course! Plague, pestilence, famine, penury, and a general falling-apart-of-things. It's been happening all over the world for some time now, and only logical that eventually it would happen in the United States at some point as well. yours in chaotic Chaos, Scarlett

shocked

I don't like what seeing these things, combined with knowing Bush is violating Posse Comitatus by bringing military in to police us...
Is there a Coup afoot?

It's in the history books that the current presidents G-pa was funding Hitler and tried to orchestrate a Fascist coup during the depression.

well with such a high prison rate

quick prison additions are needed

so a snap together idea is a possible way to add on to prisons quickly

which they will have to do when the civil population starts handling govt disobedience

I just finished watching that movie "Esoteric Agenda" so this type of thing has been on my mind a lot. If you have not seen it, you probably should. (I'm not saying BELIEVE it, I'm just saying WATCH it. Like most conspiracy theory movies, it's totally full of holes and poorly produced, but does make a number of interesting points.) I found it on Google Videos, if you need a link.

There are all kinds of things going on right now that indicate a push toward "one world government" (definitely NOT "by the people", definitely NOT "for the people", etc). This is an unfortunate state of affairs but there's little recourse for the average person. A drastic reduction in the world's human population is inevitable; this will either be accomplished by other humans, or it will be as a result of some disaster.

Prisons are a logical place for military/governmental experiments to be conducted. The next "plague" that decimates the human species will be human-engineered, and will be tested on felons before it's released into the population.

They won't get me, though! *puts on aluminum foil hat* xoxo

I'll give it a look, I hadn't heard of it before.

In the meantime, lets take a look at what got us here:

USA Patriot Act - A 342 page document presented to Congress one day before voting on it that allows the government access to your bank and email accounts, as well as your medical and phone records with no court order. They can also search your home anytime without a warrant.
USA Patriot Act II - This one allows secret government arrests, the legal authority to seize your American citizenship, and the extraction of your DNA if you are deemed a potential terrorist.
Military Commissions Act of 2006 - Ends habeas corpus, the right to an attorney, and the right to court review of one's detention and arrest. Without this most basic right, all other rights are gone too since anyone can be detained indefinitely. Now anyone may be arrested and incarcerated and nobody would know.
NSPD 51 - A directive signed by George W. Bush on May 9, 2007, that allows the President to declare martial law, effectively transforming the U.S. into a dictatorship with no checks and balances from the Legislative or Judicial Branches. Parts of this directive are considered classified and members of Congress have been denied the right to review it.
Protect America Act of 2007 - Allows unprecedented domestic wiretapping and surveillance activities with a reduction in FISA court oversight. Probable cause is not needed. John Warner Defense Authorization Act - Signed by George W. Bush on October 17, 2007, this act allows the President to declare a public emergency and station troops anywhere in America without the consent of the governor or local authorities to "suppress public disorder.
Homegrown Terrorism and Radicalization Act - Passed overwhelmingly by Congress on October 23, 2007, is now awaiting a Senate vote. This act will beget a new crackdown on dissent and the Constitutional rights of American citizens. The definitions of "terrorism" and "extremism" are so vague that they could be used to generalize against any group that is working against the policies of the Administration. In this bill, "violent radicalization" criminalizes thought and ideology while "homegrown terrorism" is defined as "the planed use of force to coerce the government." The term, "force" could encompass political activities such as protests, marches, or any other form of non-violent resistance.

US Army unit deployed to home front

Nonlethal force for civil unrest

A US army brigade combat unit will be deployed at home for the first time, the Army Times reports.

The 1st BCT (Brigade Combat Team), numbering about 650 personnel, has returned from Iraq. But rather than dealing with enemy combatants, it may be called to deal with unruly Americans.

The Team "may be called upon to help with civil unrest and crowd control or to deal with potentially horrific scenarios such as massive poisoning and chaos in response to a chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear or high-yield explosive, or CBRNE, attack."

The troops will be testing "a new modular package of nonlethal capabilities" for the first time. The BCT will be based in Georgia, the paper reports.

The Posse Comitatus Act forbids the use of the US military at home. So the task of dealing with domestic "emergencies" has been the role of the National Guard, for whom there is an exemption. But the demarcation has blurred in recent years, with the National Guard called up to bolster the military occupation of Iraq.

October is traditionally the month of surprises in the US political calendar. But this year, October has come early.
