Over the weekend, we had a shooting in the town next to us. A 51-year-old Forest Service Officer (woman) was checking on a van with no license plates, the 35-year-old male driver decided to pull his 9 mm and kill her, then dragged her body 30 feet and dumped her over a cliff. Luckily, she had radioed in to her dispatcher what she was doing and they were able to find her body.

Then the driver drove a few miles, ditched the van, and walked down the road a ways and shot a 60-year-old man working in his yard and killed him to steal his truck.

He then proceeded on down the road and stopped at a grocery store to buy some food. He was coming out when he saw the police and opened fire on them, they returned fire and he was killed. He had a history of domestic violence and kidnapping, etc.

Makes me wonder if the insanity ever stops.
Please say a prayer for the families left behind. The female officer left a loving husband and 13-year-old daughter and they are devastated. They haven't said much about the 60-year-old man, still contacting family I would guess. He was living in a trailer building his dream home. flowerforyou flowerforyou

Oh man...this is why I don't like to watch the news. Things like this really effect me. I am so hurt for the lives lost and the family they have left behind.
I will pray for them. Thank you for sharing.

Makes it worse that my best friend knew the families and her sons were friends with the woman and her family. They are just devastated.

I don't watch the news myself, too depressing.
This is a small town, things like this don't happen around here.

And -of course- this is all thanks to some idiot with prior offenses who was allowed to coast through our revolving-door justice system. God forbid we actually TRY TO send send someone into some REAL incarceration instead of fattening the wallets of those white-collar thieves otherwise known as the 'corporate elite'...

Yeah but think about it, how do we get those laws changed? By complaining to our Congressmen. If we sit around and complain to our friends about the sad status of the world, that doesn't do a bit of good. But if we take action, and get our congressmen to start standing up for our rights instead of the rights of the criminal, then that's when the laws will get changed.

On the flip side of that, I'm sure you'll hear that the criminal has constitutional rights to (where they got that idea from I don't know) which prevents a lot of these congressmen not to take any action because they don't want to hear it.

I guess it's safe to say that it's a lose/lose battle.ohwell
