and the open house is tomorrow.

my daughter is very excited for it and asked if I could be there.
I live 7 hours away and told her I would love to, but I need to know in advance......her reply
"yes you can, you just dont want too!!!"

Trust me. One day your Daughter will grow up, and your Ex wont be able too play these games. The only thing you can do too get your Daughter tooo see, and feel that you are a good dad, is too be consistant with the things you can control that concerns her. Sooner or later when she hears negative things about you, she will wonder, why isnt he that way with me. Your Ex will pay later. Send your Daughter some Flowers, or Ballons, with a card telling her, good luck at her new school, and that you love her. It always worked for me. Good Luck

for what its woth, My ex did the same to me... only I got the kids and my youngest who was a mommies is now a daddys girl, Not to mention that the one she left me for has now left her. pay backs are hell

I am so sorry that your ex has done that, but she will be the one to pay for it in the end. In time your daughter will see her for what she is worth. In the mean time you have to do what you know is right and let her know that you love her no matter what. Great idea about getting the balloons for her, she will love them. I wish you all the best.

Any chance you could contact someone at the school and make arrangements to visit another day? Sometime soon? Maybe ask if you could eat lunch with your daughter in her cafeteria that day, too.

It could be a really cool surprise - something special just for her. There are ways to let her know that you really are there for her with 100% of your heart, and that you will be there for her in person whenever & as soon as humanly possible. With your ex, you may have to get creative to do it.

Damn shame what people will put their own kids through...for what?...to make someone else feel lousy? Would have thought infidelity would have been enough, wouldn't ya ?

I think that's an excellent idea. Instead of trying to explain things to the kid--because she's too young to understand--just go there for a visit and surprise her. Even if she's upset with you now she'll forget all about it at the surprise of seeing her dad unexpectedly like that. Good luck!

Also, maybe...if you visit her at school, take flowers. Then her peers at school can see how important she is to Dad. Little girls love that kind of attention. Clears throat...so do "big" girls.
