I came home from work, and found the cat almost dead. he was so sick. I took him into the vet, and found out more than likely he had feline leukemia, and thus had to choose to put him down.

The boys both know he went to the vet because he was so sick, and they know he did not come back home, though I have not told them anything yet.

I am not really looking for suggestions at this point, as i am simply just trying to get past it myself. But I needed to get it out there, as I am sure you can understand...

whats worse, is we just rescued him from the streets about 5 months ago. Someone dumped him. he was housebroken and everything, great with everyone. Hell joshua (my devil) literally picked him up and flung him one day, and the cat went right back to him and curled up in his lap...

I am sooooo sorry. It hurts because you get so attached-like they are a family member.....although I have found I liked my pets better than some of my family members. LOL! Hang in there. Hugs and kisses for your kids.

Honey just try to focus on the fact that you gave this little creature a good home/loving care. That you did this for God's creature and he will ease your pain. Have a good cry and know you will be getting loads of emotional support from your Mingle pals((((HUGS)))as you go through this.

Er.. cats don't usually just get leukemia all of a sudden. I feel bad for ya--I have had cats who had feline leukemia--but if you have other cats PLEASE get them tested.

There's a vaccination you can get too for FL.

It's very good of you to rescue a poor homeless animal, and I am sorry that this happened. : (
