When I read this I was like, "Buh... 'LDR'...? What's that?" I ran through all the possibilities. "Is it an abbreviation for 'leader', like in the military? But don't military people call it their 'CO'...? LDR, LDR, I MUST know what that means..."

Finally after reading all the posts, I figured out that it means "long distance relationship". (DOH!!!)

I dunno--doesn't anybody like to go on road trips anymore? I mean, I'll ride my motorcycle 1,000 miles or more just to get some fresh air. If there's a person there as well, all the much more reason to go.

The internet has made it a lot easier for people to meet each other. That's a good thing, in my opinion.

The opportunity is there, it's just what you decide to do with it.

Good luck! yours in Chaos, Scarlett

When your LDR is the one you think of all the time and want to be with then you know true love has been found. I look for true love and i know dectiny has it out there for me. When I find her it will be as though we have always been together.honesty, caring, compassion, and a desire to make that person [art of your life forever is the foundation of lasting love. so what do you think..

I think that is more of an obsessive quality, probably due to lust...love is a highly difficult thing to achieve in an LDR...hell it is damn near impossible with any relationship.laugh

watch out. your thoughts become your reality. though i can see the jump tied to that obsessive quality. all worth your while relationships take time anyhow.

i think the ldr topic deserves a support group..

how am i going to get through this alone

I cherish every moment we can spend together ... it is the having to leave again that is hard...

I look forward to not having to leave again ...

I couldn't have said that better!!! I'm in an ldr also and can't wait to get back!

Not thoughts, mathmatical fact. Besides what do I care if I ever find love? It won't extend my life, nor will I die without it...so really why even bother searching for something that tends to just show up when you least expect it anyway?

I second the idea for LDR support groups. And my beloved is only a 4 hour car ride away. I will be a wreck when he is deployed next year. Sigh.

Time together will tell, Roger.

my love lives about 3 hours from me by car, but he works at least a state away... usualy in cali.. but sometimes further... for an average of 9 weeks at a time.. sometimes more..

it sux.. its hard to do..

and everytime we see each other it gets harder to know that soon we will be saying goodbye again...

but that doesnt stop how i feel every time i see him... every time i hear his voice on the phone.. or everytime i see him sign on to his messenger...

i love him... plain and simple..

and somehow.. SOMEHOW... we will make it work..
 flowerforyou love
