2. The people who don't like that picture often tell me the they like the ones that are more bland. That have no personality. That are usually done after getting my hair done after work, so I'm dressed to blend in, NOT be myself. 3. I'm a quirky, unique, off the wall individual. I'm not going to hide that and if people can't accept my fun pictures, they probably won't be able to accept who I am. 4. So it is better to be upfront and honest with people about who I am so people who only want what they think of as "normal" won't waste a bunch of time and then get made at me for somehow lying about who I am. In my experience, dating sites are absolutely entrenched with stodgy, traditional, mainstream types. Original thinkers and an "outside-the-box" mentality simply don't play well at all on any site I've ever tried. You will see dozens of people posting things like "I want someone different" and "I don't want to be with someone who is just like everybody else," but it's not true. Once you get to know them a little bit, the first thing they want to do is put you right into that little Traditionalist Box where they put everything else in their lives. A misogynist, a man-hater, or an uncontrollable exhibitionist will do better than an original thinker will, on any dating site I've ever seen. |
