I'm so sorry, I just went through that last week. It doesn't make
it any easier when they tell you, it's the only humane thing to do. |

go out and get yourself another cat, one, maybe two or three, and adopt
some abused ones, so that you will feel good knowing you saved an animal. then, you will forget about mr. furball. you will move on and have something else to love again. this is meant with all sincerity. i lost a cat, a dog, a horse, and another dog. it is all the same. they are like our children, and especially if they have been with us a long time. it hurts, but there are plenty out there waiting for you....just you. |

I understand what you're going through......I have a 16 year old who has
diabetes....I have to give her insulin twice a day and it's very hard on me to stick her with a needle. I thought she was going to die, at one point. She got very sick, so I brought her to the vet and found out she had diabetes......I never even knew animals could get that. The only problem I have now is I can't check her blood sugar levels.....So it's either I bring her to the vet every month, which I can't afford, or I just wing it. If you need someone to talk to, I'm always available for emotional support. I have 3 other cats as well. |

petite,
I had a cat just like that. Her name was Katie. Had to give her shots and meals... did it for 2-3 years. She actually came for the shots 'cause she liked the treats, lol. She lived to be very old, and had to have her put down when her suffering became apparent a two yrs ago. OP, I know it suck=o/ We've always had pets and critters before as part of the family, I miss it. |

I know what you're saying, Emotional......When I first found out my cat
was sick, we didn't know what was wrong with her. We thought she was dying, because she was throwing up a lot, laying on her side and she couldn't go to the bathroom.....Now she was quite old to begin with......15. I've had her since I was 13 and she's the love of my life. When my ex and I split up, she was still with him and he decided to take it upon himself to stop giving her 2 shots a day......He only gave her 1 instead. I was so pissed, I didn't know what to do. Now, she seems to be doing much better that she's back with me. She didn't get around very well because of arthritis, but now she's walking up and down stairs, moving around again. I hope she lasts another couple years or so. |

omg, poor thing!
Glad you got her back.=0) I adopted Katie from a vets place. The original owners had tried all over town to have her put to sleep. All she had was a urinary infection. 7 dollars for meds, and she went home with me. Toward the end, she was mostly blind because of the diabetes. And, she was enjoying life still. Once the insulin couldn't control it any longer, she went into seizures almost every day or so. Was confused, scared... I knew she had to go. Was Hard. But, she did live a good life |
