I'm new to this and am getting a little confused by this mutual match thing. I had several on there yesterday, but now a few of them are gone. They sent it to me, and I replied. How did they disappear? Did they change their minds, or did I hit something?

If you click on search on search & then click on Mutual match it explains how it works.

SB28481, I'm not sure where the area of confusion is, exactly. Are you referring to profiles that were on the following page but are now gone?
http://mingle2.com/mutual_match/your_matches

I guess I'm not understanding the part where you write "They sent it to me, and I replied". That description sounds like email.

Welcome, by the way.

i have a question about mutual match, or maybe it's just the site in general.

does the site automatically select profiles and forward to other members who live in the same area and refer to them as 'interested in you'?

i received an email from a gentleman today indicating that 'I am contacting you b/c I was sent a message from this site, saying you were interested in me.' this 'interest' could not have come from me directly.

if this IS the case, and a profiler is interested only in friends and/or is currrently involved in a relationship, should this sort of thing be happening? and how can i prevent it?

or is the gentleman in question just using that as an excuse to write?

papersmile, he could be using it as an excuse. The only thing that we "forward" to other users is your profile in searches and in potential Mutual Matches. We don't send out "I'm interested in you" messages on anyone's behalf.

If I understand the sequence of events correctly then yes, they changed their minds and deleted you from their mutual matches.
