I seem to get into a heated discussion everytime I mention I don't care for hip hop/rap music. It all tends to sound the same. Is that a bad or good thing?

Don't mention it!! You should like whatever appeals to your ear, but there is no reason to get into an argument with someone who does not share your tastes or vice-versa

I joke about it with my kids as well, turning the dial or changing the cd to classic rock just to annoy them...lol..but, I like it loud and proud..:)

Honestly, I have tried to like it..oh well, I was a teenager in the 1970s'..what can I say...lol.

Hi Neighbor to the north- why get into an argument with anyone about something so trivial as musical preferences?
everyone is entitled to their own opinion- I like what I like and ignore the rest- its just not worth the effort to argue- ya know? |

It was with a friend of my sons, who commented on "old music"..but, you are right..it isnt worth an arguement.I told him when a song/group of today is still around and famous in 20 years, we will talk...lol.

My point exactly. Music is to enjoy, not argue over. :)

granted but some music isnt as...... good as others? honestly theres alot of destructive music out there that should be argued against.

uugghh... not the biggest fan of that music ether, and oddly know what you are talking about about the arguements.. its like.. if you turn it down, or off then you manage to pizz someone off.. and they voice that fact loudly... my best friend listens to that "crap music" as i call it.. we argue about it all the time.. uugghh. |

a lot of rap/hip hop wouldn't even exist if they didn't have "old" music to steal samples from & use in their songs
