So the guy I'm dating is having a really rough time. His ex-wife ran away over 3 years ago, taking his young daughter with her and disappeared off of the face of the earth... recently he located her via private investigator and started custody proceedings. She then gave custody to the tribal court in Alaska who appointed her parents as the girls guardian. Well many months go by with my honey fighting the courts so that he can get custody... last week custody was awarded to him. So Tuesday he flies to Alaska to get his baby back... Lo and behold the mother is running again with his daughter.

Why is it that good guys always finish last? He doesn't deserve this, it's been years since he's seen his baby and just when it looks like he's getting her back, the nightmare starts all over again:cry: sad2

that seems to be a project for the police.

It is kidnapping or at the least custodial interference.

yes, but she hid out in Alaska for years already... and she's already threatened that Josh won't get his daughter back unless it's over her dead body... The police are involved, but for some reason they won't issue an Amber alert... doesn't make sense to me!frustrated

because women turn into control freaks with chidren...my ex-fiance self-aborted our child over giving me custody...she was addicted to stuff i dont touch and she wasnt going to let me help...at least he knows that the kid is alive...

Alright Vlad, I know that I did NOT just hear you make a remark regarding us women being all alike and not in a good way. I'm sure you really meant something completely other than what I actually read.....right?

Alright...I'm calm now. It is a terrible thing that happened to you and I am so very sorry for your loss. But we really are not all like that. If you only knew my story...you'd know for sure that women aren't all like that and that, in fact, there are men who are.

I have heard this kind of story over and over again. I am sorry about your honey's loss. I truly hope he finds her and soon.

I have three male friends who are parents, and all three are fighting, not even for custody, but just to spend TIME with their babies. Why is it so hard for a daddy to be a daddy? Is a father only good if he's with the mother? People complain all the time about deadbeat dads, but there are so many men out there who WANT to be good fathers but aren't allowed! That's ridiculous.

I have to agree that many (certainly not all and not even most, but a large amount indeed), women use kids as power tools against their exes. It's sick and wrong. If you're hurt by the breakup, fine. Take it out on him in other ways, like yelling at him that he hurt you or screaming into a pillow or throwing glasses against walls (that's worked for me), but for God's sake don't use children as weapons or fodder for your hurt. They need their dads; their dads need them. Unless a father is a convicted felon, child molestor, or in another serious way dangerous to their child(ren), let them be with their child(ren). It makes me sick.

My ex has our children all summer and whenever he can get here to visit in the winter. I will never and, indeed, could never deny him his fatherhood. Our problems are ours. They have nothing to do with our children.

Sorry... I'm new here and just posted a longass rant. Heh. Hi. Here's my introduction. lol

I am not sure what the laws are out there, but if he has a copy of the court order stating that he has custody, then he should take it back to the court. The court then can take legal action.

I'm very sorry Dave, unfortunately we hear too much about the "dead beats" and not enough about the kind of men who actually want to be apart of their childrens lives... and then this happens to you guys! I hope everything works out for you!flowerforyou

it may suck but now she faces kidnapping charges, so when his daughter is found he will get full custody, it will just take more time be strong for them both you'll be a family soon flowerforyou flowerforyou flowerforyou flowerforyou flowerforyou

you can only issue an amber alert under specific circumstances not 100% sure what they are.

What reason has she or her family given for running?
