Most places have noise ordinances as well, you can always call the police, they can fine them.

They don't care about the police, I have done that. But AC will take them away if they don't do something. And the guy on the other side has three damn beagles that howl all night and when I say something to him about it, he tells me to kiss his ass, so he is a lost cause

I hate people like that, I love my animals and I make darn sure that they don't disturb my neighbors, well as much as is humanly possible anyway. Another route, you can try the Humane Society. If they determine they're being neglected or abused, they can also remove them from the home.

Yeah, I know that. That barking would drive me nuts. Thankfully, I don't have a barker at home, she only barks if someone knocks (and not always then) or if you instigate it. Otherwise, she's pretty quiet.

we had a pitbull running loose in the neighborhood last saturday, i know people freak out about pitbulls, i dont, but it was the fact that it was a stray dog running loose with the kids outside. she turned out to be friendly, but when i called the police to come get her, they didnt seem to care she was loose. POed me big time! It should not have taken them as long as it did to get out here, and by time he did, we were no longer able to keep her in the yard and she had taken off, we told him which way she went, and he drove the opposite way. later that night a couple of boys knocked on the door to see if the pit was ours, we said no, but to call the cops they'll come get her. I'm glad there wasn't a major emergency, i'd hate to see how long it would take them to get here then!

Tom has a dog, barks when he hears something and when someone barks at the door, he is a good watchdog and a sweet dog, I just wish the people around here had dogs the same way, but

Oh that is so true and not all pitbulls are bad dogs, it is all in how the owner trains them. We have had several children mauled by pit bulls around here, sad, but the owners don't seem to care about that, they only care about training them to fight
