so i'm looking for a place to vent the wonderfullness of what is going on in my life. So my best friend/roommate's parents moved up to maine (we live in MA)a few years back, and my friend ended up moving in with her BF for a while...to make a long story short he was a cheating bastard and needed to move outa his place, so i busted my ass to be able to move outa my parents house to live with her. Well now that she's found a new boyfriend up in Maine while visiting her parents (they have been dating 3 days now), she told me last nite that she wants to move up there. and no, not even wait until our lease is up at the end of Feb., but ASAP. I am just beside myself right now that she could do this to me. She insists that its cuz she wants to be close to her family (they moved 6 years ago),but she spends all nite talking to her new bf saying she cant wait to move, not her mom and dad. thanks for listening.

awww baby, sounds as if you're right in thinking she's wanting to leave because of b/f. Don't know how important this friendship is to you, but if she's leaving you with a signed lease, maybe you might look at what the law is in breaking leases and your financial situation regarding it.

Just thoughts.

As a landlord myself I might let you out of that lease. with some conditions. Find someone suitable to move in. So I don't lose any rent. That means it has to be clean as a whistle for the new people too.

talk to her... tell her u cant afford the place alone... that u may have to move too... she will be responsible for half the money owed till feb... tell her its one thing if you could afford the place by yourself but you cant... she should not as a friend dump you like that... she signed the lease too... yes if she can help you find someone else to live there then that is a different story but sounds like she is too busy .. she should wait to move anyways 3 days? feburary is not that far away....
