The pain never leaves... you bury it, you ignore it but something will trigger a memory and its there. I like to keep mine in the baggage compartment and ignore it, but once in a while just to remind me of the lessons I have long since forgotten, I take them out one by one. I examine why I am the way that I am and who I don’t want to be again. It reminds me what I will and won’t put up with and it keeps me focused on my future.

I am the total of all my memories, past and present. That is what determines my future.

Mine wound is still freshly cut open. And I'm not talking about surgical steel, more like a jagged knife. It's going to take a lot of band-aids to heal this one.sad

I was so hurt in my last relationship, 10.5 years ago, that I decided ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! i havent dated once since then, and have bascily been celebate..hope i spell that right...haha..

Im not saying i will never date, i just have had other priorities in life lately. finding HONEST people is a rare thing nowadays. people are so afraid to just be themselves. i dont hink going to someone else after a breakup is good....your just using someone to fill a void.

well, thats my 2 cents worth. :)

Do you ever truly move on from heartbreak? Does it just become part of who you are? Do you become jaded and more wary of relationships? Do you see heartbreak as a learning experience? Do you throw yourself into another relationship? Do you cry and get mad? Do you appear to be okay after the fact?

Come on people wage in! What are your thoughts?

I think you can move on after heart break It just takes time. But I also think sometimes you never get over it.

I can only speak for myself with no assumptions about anyone else:

Every heartbreak I've been through has become a part of me, and they've all played a significant part in shaping who and what I am - in both positive and negative ways.
