Love
I’m sitting on my couch wanting to describe love in a way that makes sense and funny. My intentions were to share my feelings between two adults. Meanwhile my son is sitting next to me subconsciously picking his nose. My thoughts are “Damn, I never been loved the way I wanted to be loved and I never gave my love to someone that appreciated it.” I should have been thinking, “T I S S U E” blow your nose. “Mom, mom, mom I’m hungry.” My response is “I’m busy” “What’s for dinner” My response is that “I’m not sure.” “When are we going to eat” My response is ”Lets cook.” In the kitchen I have three carnivorous Piranhas wanting to “help” cook –code word for pick at food while in the kitchen. “Wash your hands and use soap!” Obstacle one was tackled with little or no disruption. “Piranha one take out the Red pot under the sink.” His response-“I always have to get the Pot.” and “Why do I always have to get the dishes.” These are code phrases for “Why am I not helping with the food preparation?” Twenty minuets into cooking there is at least two arguments, multiple name calling, half the food is already consume, and don’t get me started on the outburst of silent mustard gas. We sit at the dinner table and no one can get a word in because everyone is talking all at once. All of us are laughing and disagreeing within a 10-foot radius; ultimately, confined within walls that are home. Most smart people deter from placing themselves in an enclosed space with a risk of Armageddon. How many times do you go to a Bar knowing that you might end up in jail? Just a thought. We all finish dinner with a lengthy debate on who helps with dishes. I delegate showers and send my little gold fishes to bed. Of course they all NEED to say goodnight. “Mom, Mom, Night” I respond, “Night Antonio” “Night Mom” I respond, “Night Matt” “Night Mom” I respond, “Night Baby squirrel” “Mom, Mom, I Love you” I respond, “Love you to Antonio” “Love you too” I respond “Matt I love you too” “I Love you higher then God and bigger then the World” I respond, “Tasha, I love you more” “Mom” “Get you butts to bed!” That’s Love in it purest unhampered form. Do I want it…yes…everyday, every hour, and every minuet. |
