Who do you want to win the Republican presidential nomination if Ms.
Clinton won the Democratic nomination? Or if Obama won the Democratic
nomination?

It will never happen, not in a million years, but a McCain/Powell
ticket would be an ideal one. Both a former military and (despite what
pops out of McCains mouth every now and then) more toward to middle of
liberal/conservative. Plus with Powell being black it would cancel out
Obama (who should also be on ever democrats "dream ticket"). Now that
last statement means nothing more than both parties (or "all" if you
want to include independents) pander to all special interest groups (in
this case the NAACP) come election time and is not a reflection of
either men's ablity to lead or aid in leading this country.

McCain is BIG on National Security but he's also BIG on apologies. Some
have speculated that he'll apologize to win votes. Remember he said
sorry to Vietnam Vets for signing US war agression that the Viet Cong
gave him while as a POW, though he WAS torchered for it.

I don't view an apology (or rather the ability to apologize) as a
weakness- I view it as a strength. It takes a lot to stand up and say
"I was wrong." to a group of people where the entire nation (or world)
will be watching and critiquing (and somehow trying to decipher what you
actually said) it. It's even more difficult to make an apology that is
believable (assuming you're just saying what people want to hear and are
not sincere). And incidentally, does anyone think that a sincere
apology to the U.N. and our European allies wouldn't go a long way in
repairing relations damaged in the last few years?
