How odd!
Didn't they re-record the woman's voice too so it's slightly less racist?

you must have seen the recently-released tom-and-jerry movie, which has both the cat and mouse speaking in it. they were pretty much silent for most of the cartoons over the years, with the only dialog coming from narrators or other characters.

then some corporate hollywood idiot decided that the cat and mouse should talk "for the first time in movie history", which resulted in that movie. it was also the death-knell for the movie, as it just stunk.
