is it just me, or is that zombie dating site a wee bit unsettling? i mean... no one'd want to be trying to enjoy a nice dinner with someone trying to gnaw on your brains...

I feel that it is most definitely a good thing. There are many people out there that do not care and will spread the disease without telling anyone they are infected. At least the dating site offers an alternative for those who are responsible about it. For those of you who made fun of it and people with stds. It is no laughing matter. It is very sad and you might try to have some compassion. It is a misconception that promiscuity is the main cause of these diseases. One out of four people in the United States is infected with the disease. Whether it be an unfaithful partner, someone trusted who did not tell you, or rape. It is not always a persons fault. Do not have so much pride in the fact that you are clean, because there may come a day, that you yourself may be infected. Be kind people and try not judging so harshly. Just my thoughts.

so let me ask a question??? What if you were dating someone for a long period of time and never had sex with them then the time finally comes and they tell you they have a disease, but keep in mind you have gotten attached to them and really like them... do you bail or stick in for the long haul?

I posted something about the ever-increasing trend toward specialized dating sites awhile back -- and I don't really see anything wrong with it, per se, inasmuch as it allows for people to deal strictly with those who fall into somewhat more limited overall parameters, thereby avoiding wasting a lot of time on those who clearly don't fit.

At the same time, a few of the "specialized" sites have struck me....well, the wrong way, I guess. There was an ad, at one point, for a site for dating married people. I wouldn't do it, myself, but I know a lot of people who have, and do, and there's something about that whole scenario that just doesn't work for me. And I am not a big fan of marriage!

I just figure everybody has their own standards and issues to deal with, so I try not to judge; I've never been one to try to impose my beliefs on anybody else.

Still, I have no interest in dating married people -- or, really, anybody on any of the more specialized sites I've seen advertised thus far.

I won't rule out the possibility that someday someone may start a site which caters to the kind of people I would be interested in....not likely, but you never know....
