Uh ohsick Why did it take so long to figure that out?

You'd be surprised how good some guys are at hiding it.
and women too!!!
theres really no way to know.
it sucks to be played, and then not be cautious when you meet someone that maybe the one for you!!!

Did not realize you edited.

Why did it take so long? If I have never met the guy how the hell can I figure it out? It is not like he showed regular signs, like only coming on certain times of the day, or calling me during certain hours, or with holding his phone number. HECK he gave me what I thought was his address, we sent things back and fourth to each other.

Next time meet the guy in person early on. I've also read that if you don't see the place where they live within one month of meeting them that that's a big flag on the field and you should run like hell.

One way to catch anyone married is ask for their home phone number right from the start. If they give you only a cell phone or work number, that's a give away. Another way is to get is their complete name. States, like here in Wisconsin, now have Circuit Court query systems available to the public on the Internet. In Wisconsin to find the system, you do a search on the words "Wisconsin CCAP". The system lists every person who has a history of any court activity from traffic tickets, criminal charges, to divorces. It's a free site. All you need to look a person up is their first and last name.

I don't have a landline in my home. Only use a cell phone and more people are doing that....at least out here. So, he/she might not have a home phone number different from their cell. But, all the suggestions are good.

It's so sad that we have to resort to checking people out before we get involved. I mean...how unromantic is that??? But, it's the way it is and you have to do it.

Except now many people don't have home phones. Just cell phones. So, that wouldn't work very well.

Okay then, call their cell phones at dinner time or later at night. If they don't answer or pick up right away at those times, you might have good cause to be suspicious.

I'm single and I probably wouldn't pick up my cell during dinner or late at night.

One more way to determine if a person is married, don't take their word for it, have them prove it to you. I agree that it is sad that potential partners have to be checked out. It is true though that many lie, both men and women. I am never offended when a woman asks me for my home phone, or full name to look me up on Wisconsin's court activity system. Sometimes I volunteer the info upfront just to assure them that I'm available and that I have no criminal past. It's the times we live in, so you either take the risk or play it safe by asking and getting the convincing proof that you need. I have been on several dates in the past, to include the last woman I was out with, that turned out to be married. Surprise!
