I'm the "reliable" one in my friends and family, the one who puts everything on hold to take care of others. But, on the other hand, I am not living up to my "potential," if you count potential as living the great american dream of working my ass off to support a bunch of "stuff" I neither want nor need, which I choose not to do. My friends? Oh they just view me as "a closer." You know "Hymie will do that for me." Hymie will take care of that." "I'll ask Hymes, he'll do it." "Hymie will help," you know those kind of things. I doubt any one of my friends has ever considered me past what I can do for them.

Early on, there was a point where I was picked up just enough to let me fall. Knowing that pain, I have made sure that 1) I will never do that to anyone, and 2) that I keep myself at arms length most of the time to keep myself from letting it happen again..
